High School/Middle School Workshop
This intensive chamber music program is for advanced young string and piano players ages 11-18. Students enjoy seven days of teaching by our internationally renowned faculty. Each day includes coachings in small chamber groups, chamber orchestra, and an improvisation project. Located on the beautiful campus of UNC-Chapel Hill, this summer program offers exceptional students the opportunity to develop their talents while working closely with other committed young musicians.

College/Conservatory Workshop
MYCO’s workshop provides college aged students (all attending music conservatories or majors in music at a university) the opportunity to receive private instruction from high caliber professional musicians, both international and local, and participate in chamber music groups with their peers from across the country. The college students are integrated into MYCO’s annual summer workshop for local high school students. In return for a tuition waiver, they provide mentorship and guidance, as well as music instruction to the high school students.  This benefits both the college aged and high school students by giving each musician the opportunity to develop their talents while working closely with other committed young musicians.

MYCO mentor students are chosen on the basis of artistic excellence as well as leadership qualities. If you'd like to be considered, please prepare a short essay paragraph describing the leadership and mentorship qualities that you would bring to the role and submit it on the college workshop application form (available before 2023 workshop). Please also record a recent video of your playing and send it to mycoregistrar@gmail.com
