Overview

The Mallarmé Youth Chamber Orchestra at UNC-Chapel Hill is a pre-professional program focused on orchestral and chamber music performance. MYCO students enjoy a positive, challenging environment with ambitious performance standards, and are coached by high caliber professional musicians from Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC-Greensboro, East Carolina University, Meredith College and beyond. Repertoire ranges from Mozart and Haydn to Schubert, Brahms, Bartók and more. The program is open to intermediate and advanced violin, viola and cello students in middle school or high school. Limited openings are available for piano.

MYCO's two chamber orchestras and smaller chamber groups rehearse every Sunday afternoon on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus. We also perform several free public performances every semester. Check our calendar for performance dates. We hope to see you soon!
